Railroad tracks have always given me a strange feeling of faraway places, of something just around the bend, a feeling that if I followed the tracks far enough, I would discover something out there waiting for me. Balancing myself on the tracks, watching the trains go by and listening to the wonderful sound of the train whistle were all part of my youth. I enjoyed these feelings and memories the entire time I painted Walking the Rails. -Jim Daly
