This image was always meant to be a highlight of my book Voyage of the Basset. But as I immersed myself in the paintings for the book over the course of three years, I would both return to the court as well as save it for last. Finally, after the final piece of Basset art was done, I dedicated myself to creating the sumptuous fantasy surroundings as well as the ninety-four characters I envisioned for this fantasy fine art vista.
I put in some things that are personal and gave a nod to friends and family within the faces
and places you can explore here, but I hope it says a lot to you and your world, too.
I suppose I could
go into detail over what you may find in here, but I've always felt that fine art was a two-way street. I
had a great time creating this, but I did it for you. I hope you will explore and enjoy it at your leisure.
