I grew up exploring the hills and fields of my father's sheep farm on the banks of the Housatonic River (in Connecticut). Our farm stretched up against Skiff Mountain where I spent many a Saturday exploring. The top of the mountain was crisscrossed with old stone walls that divided once fertile meadows. Now those fields are grown up with white pine, paper birch and wild dogwood. -David Armstrong
